House Groups

HOUSE GROUPS AT IMMANUEL

Where belonging runs deep, and school spirit runs loud

At Immanuel, House life is the heartbeat of our College culture. From Prep to Year 12, every student belongs to a House Group that becomes their crew, their cheer squad, and their constant — through every stage of their school journey.

Our four Houses — Stradbroke Sharks, K’gari Dingoes, Moreton Crocodiles and Bribie Kangaroos — bring colour, energy and identity to daily life on campus. Inspired by the stunning islands off our Queensland coast, each House carries a unique spirit, mascot and charity partner — all chosen by our students.

STUDENT WELLBEING & CONNECTION

A Place to Belong, From Day One

At Immanuel, the House system isn’t something extra — it’s a big part of how we care for each student.

In Primary School, it starts with fun, connection and team pride. In Secondary, our vertical structure (Years 7–9 and 10–12) means older and younger students are grouped together, building real relationships, offering mentorship, and creating a culture where everyone is included, and no one gets left behind.

House Leaders — who are also classroom teachers — guide, support and check in with students regularly. Staff across all areas of the College also belong to House groups, strengthening relationships and creating a genuine sense of community.

COMMUNITY, CULTURE & CELEBRATION

House Spirit, Every Step of the Way

From carnival days and creative challenges to lunchtime games and service initiatives, House life at Immanuel is full of colour, connection and healthy competition. It’s where students learn to lift each other up, win and lose with grace, and be part of something bigger than themselves.

Whether it’s a Prep student waving a pom pom, a Year 12 leading a chant, or a House leader checking in with their crew — you’ll find House pride running through it all.

Even our student art showcase, Artists on the Horizon, is a House-led celebration of creativity and collaboration.

VOICE, OWNERSHIP & IMPACT

Designed By Students, Backed By Purpose

Our House mascots and charity partners weren’t chosen by staff — they were created by our students and then came to life with our inhouse College Development team. From sketching mascot concepts to voting on causes that matter to them, students shaped the heart and soul of each House identity. Thanks to the generous support of our P&F Community, we were able to bring all four mascots to life. Now, our senior students proudly take turns stepping into the mascot role, joining younger students in celebrations across both Primary and Secondary. It’s a spirited tradition that unites our entire College community — one mascot high five at a time.

Each House is now proudly aligned with a local charity, bringing real purpose to our fundraising and service projects. These partnerships turn school spirit into something powerful: connection with community, and action that matters.

CONNECTION AS A FOUNDATION

A House System That Feels Like Home

It’s more than colour, carnivals or competition. At Immanuel, House life is about having people in your corner — people who’ll cheer for you, look out for you, and grow with you.

It’s about connection. It’s about care. And it’s one of the reasons our students say Immanuel feels like home.
